Q) What Language do they speak in Bali?
A) In addition to speaking Balinese/Indonesian, most people in Bali speak English reasonably well, especially those who are linked with the tourism industry (eg. hotel staff, taxis, shop staff). You will have no issues with communication in Bali.

Q) Are things expensive in Bali?
A) No. When you are shopping or purchasing things in Bali you will find that the prices are generally lower than what they would be in Australia.

Q) What’s the food like in Bali?
A) Enjoy the amazing food available in Bali. The food includes all the normal stuff you would expect (remember that Australians are one of the main visitors to Bali!) It would include things like Pizza, Chicken, Steak, Pasta, Fish and Chips, Wedges, Seafood, Burgers, Fresh Fruit. Basically, all the things you would be used to in Australia. In addition, there is the local Balinese food available, Italian food and other European and Asian food. Meals are quite cheap in Bali.

Q) Is this destination suitable for people with dietary requirements such as vegan or vegetarian?
A) Yes. There are so many food outlets available that you are very likely to find multiple options for your dietary requirements and because most of the Balinese are Hindu, most of them are vegan or vegetarian, so there are plenty of vegan/vegetarian foods available.

Q) When should I get my passport?
A) You don’t need a passport to make a booking, but you will need one before you travel. You get them at the Post Office. It’s a good idea not to wait too long after making a booking to start organising your passport. Try not to leave it any later than 2 months before you travel.

Q) Do I need a Visa?
A) Yes, you do need a visa to get into Bali. This is done on arrival in Bali and costs $45.00. The departure tax is also paid at the airport on your way out and is around $20.00.

Q) Can I plug my things in and get electricity?
A) Yes. The electricity supplies the same voltage output. You will just need a universal adaptor to be able to plug in your electrical items. You can get these from most convenience stores, online, or at the airport when you’re departing Australia, they are usually under $20.00. It’s also a good idea to bring a power board in addition to the adaptor (so that you can plug in multiple items at once if necessary). These adaptors are also available in Bali if you forget.

Q) What Time Zone is Bali in?
A) Bali is in the same time zone as Western Australia (UTC +8)

Q) Do we need immunisations?
A) Please consult your doctor regarding immunisations.

Q) What is ATAS accreditation?
A) This is the highest level of accreditation available to Australian Travel Agents and Tour Operators. Only the best of the best have this qualification. Sure Thing Schoolies is honoured to have ATAS accreditation. Sure Thing is the only School Leavers company that is ATAS accredited – ensuring you reliability, credibility, professionalism and an absolutely awesome School Leavers week.

Q) What money do their use in Bali?
A) The local currency in Bali is called Rupiah. Although this varies, you can currently get 10,000 Indonesian Rupiah with $1 Australian. You can exchange your money whilst still in Australia or at the airport when you arrive in Bali, however, you can also exchange money at the local money exchange shops within walking distance of the resort. Count your money carefully, some money exchange stores tend to miscalculate. The best option is to use your Australian ATM card, some of them work in the ATMs in Bali and will give you the local Rupiah Currency. Almost all Australian ATM cards work if they have “Cirrus” or “Maestro” written on them.

Q) We’ve heard that School Leavers at Bali is awesome, is it?
A) Bali is a unique and an epic School Leavers experience. Booking an official Sure Thing Schoolies package takes your experience to the next level of awesomeness.

Q) We have been advised to book at one of the Official School Leavers Resorts. Is this right?
A) Absolutely. This is a must to ensure you that have no problems at check-in. It will also ensure you are at a “Verified” School Leavers Resort – these resorts must meet guidelines of safety, prime location, good rooms, School Leavers friendly staff and it also ensures that you don’t miss out on the genuine School Leavers experience as there is no other way to access the Official Bali School Leavers Boat Parties or to get the Official School Leavers Merchandise unless you book with Sure Thing Schoolies.

Q) How soon should we book?
A) Just like the hottest concert tickets… The School Leavers resort rooms get snapped up nice and early, the earlier you book, the better it is for you. To get things rolling, contact schoolies@surething.com.au and let them know how many people are in your group. From there, they will send you an itinerary of the best available rooms and will give you details on how you can make them yours!

  1. Zenith

It was an amazing weekend and a great opportunity to stay with friends. Was hyped up a lot and lived up to most of the hype, the only downside is the hotel we stayed in didn’t look the same as the photos. Luckily we weren’t in there a lot so didn’t make a massive difference.

Sure thing schoolies was a breeze to book through, and their huge amount of selection of accommodation was pleasing. I’m glad they are able to organise such a safe event for us graduating students, who are bound to celebrate the end of our schooling journey somehow.”
