Schoolies flock here for the annual Schoolies celebrations thanks to its beach setting and safe atmosphere. Soak up the sunshine during the day and either relax or party at night.

By booking with Sure Thing Schoolies, the official Schoolies accommodation provider, you also get access to free events and BBQs. The Hive Holiday Apartments is rated number one for Schoolies and it’s directly across the road from the beach and an exclusive Schoolies hotel.

There are plenty of cafes, bars and clubs to explore at night or many choose to chill with friends on the foreshore.

Schoolies aged 16 to 18 who are completing year 12 on the year of travel may attend. If you have left school early (eg Year 10) for work or TAFE and you are in this age group then you may also attend. If you are closely connected with the Schoolies group (eg) sibling, boyfriend, girlfriend, and you are of similar age, then you may also book with the group. The Schoolies accommodation and activities are accessible to all Schoolies 18+ as well as under 18.

Schoolies can get access into the bars and clubs if they are 18. Otherwise, there is a great Schoolies vibe at the Schoolies accommodation that can be enjoyed every evening for all Schoolies regardless of age. Staying at the Schoolies accommodation is a huge advantage for those who are under 18 as it gives you a venue to enjoy and celebrate your Schoolies week.

Measures are in place to make it as safe as possible for Schoolies. Sure Thing Schoolies has a 100% Safety record in all 14 years that it has been running Schoolies events. There are regular security patrols. Rye is a safe and friendly destination, especially at this Schoolies accommodation. Part of enjoying Schoolies celebrations is staying safe and healthy.

Stage 1
Upon payment of deposit, group members must register on an online form:

  • Full name as per I.D. or passport
  • Mobile number
  • Personal email address

Stage 2
On 10th of August of the year of travel, group members must register on an online form:

  • Address
  • Home Number
  • Date of Birth
  • High School Name and Suburb
  • Portrait photo

Travel Documents including Check-in vouchers are sent by email approximately 28 days before departure.

Payments are non-refundable. Changes are allowed in certain circumstances, see terms and conditions for details

The Official Schoolies activities will be held on site at the Schoolies resort. There is also great Schoolies vibe at the Schoolies accommodation that can be enjoyed every evening for all Schoolies regardless of age. Those who are under 18 are not treated any differently to those who are 18, so no one is separated. Staying at the Schoolies accommodation is a huge advantage for those who are under 18 as it gives you a venue to enjoy and celebrate their Schoolies week. The location is also perfect for them, right on the beach. There is also a games room and pool and ongoing fun things to do to keep them entertained. This is part of the reason it’s rated as the Number 1 Schoolies venue in Rye.

Yes. We understand that you want Freedom at Schoolies. You have the freedom to explore the beautiful Rye area and experience the local culture. You can go shopping, do tours and activities as you wish.

The group will get their room allocation, however we don’t select the guest’s configurations within their own group, they can decide amongst themselves on arrival.

Enjoy the amazing food available in Rye. The food includes all the normal stuff you would expect such as Pizza, Chicken, Steak, Pasta, Fish and Chips, Wedges, Seafood, Burgers, Fresh Fruit. There are also supermarkets, cafes and restaurants close by. There is a full kitchen at the Schoolies accommodation if you feel like preparing your own food.

Yes. There are so many food outlets available that you are very likely to find multiple options for your dietary requirements.

Being in VIC, Rye is in the UTC +10 AEST time zone

Yes, there are ATMs available within walking distance.

Check in starts from 2pm onwards. If you get there before 2pm you may be able to leave your bags at reception whilst you explore the area. There may be many people checking in at once, so keep in mind that you may not be able to check in at exactly 2pm. The whole group should check in together all at once. As for Check out, you must vacate your room completely by no later than 10am on the day of departure.
