Yes. We understand that you want Freedom at Schoolies rather than having to stay at the hotel for the whole week. The Sure Thing Schoolies packages give you Freedom in Fiji to explore the beautiful nation, experience the culture on the mainland, go shopping, do tours and activities as well as see the nightlife. Many people would find it restrictive to be forced to stay at a hotel for 7 days, that’s why Sure Thing Schoolies is on the mainland at Mango Bay Resort Fiji – this gives you access to the best beaches as well as everything Fiji has to offer – making Schoolies even better than before!
No. You don’t have this restriction at Sure Thing Schoolies accommodation
Yes, Sure Thing Schoolies Packages include your flights as well as the Schoolies transport between the airport and the resort (in both directions)
Most people in Fiji speak English very well, especially those who are linked with the tourism industry (eg. hotel staff, taxis, shop staff). Schoolies have no issues with communication in Fiji.
Things are priced slightly lower to what they would be in Australia. Though, you will find that certain things are remarkably cheaper.
Enjoy the fantastic food available on the main island of Fiji! The food includes all the normal stuff you would expect (remember that Australians are one of the main visitors to Fiji!) It would include things like Pizza, Chicken, Steak, Pasta, Fish and Chips, Wedges, Seafood, Burgers, Fresh Fruit. Basically all the things you would be used to in Australia – The only difference is that the ingredients in Fiji are of higher quality since they are all fresh and organic, and taste much better in Fiji. You can purchase food ‘by the meal’ at the hotel restaurant, or get the schoolies meals package (better overall value). This cheaper option is pre-paid meals package that comes with the Silver, Gold and Ultimate packages, it can be arranged by contacting schoolies@surething.com.au if you don’t have it already.
Yes. Let us know in advance and we will request the correct food for you.
You don’t need a passport to make a booking, but you will need one before you travel. You get them at the Post Office. It’s a good idea not to wait too long after making a booking to start organising your passport. Try not to leave it any later than 2 months before you travel.
No, you don’t need a visa to get into Fiji if you have an Australian Passport.
Yes. Activate Global Roaming. This needs to be done before you leave Australia. Generally speaking, those on post-paid mobile plans can call customer service at their Telco and activate global roaming so that it works overseas. It’s a good idea to make sure at least one person in your group has a mobile phone that will work. Alternatively, bring an unlocked mobile phone with you and get a local sim card in Fiji on arrival for around $6. The phone that you bring will need to be unlocked (not locked to an Australian network) if you intend to use it for a Fijian sim card. To unlock your phone from your Australian Network contact your phone company for instructions. If parents/friends need to contact you but can’t get through via mobile, the phone number of the resort where you will be staying is (0011) 6796530069 Mango Bay Resort, Fiji.
Yes. Many visitors to Fiji are from Australia, so they cater for all our electrical products – they use the same plugs and voltage.
Fiji is just 1 hour ahead of NSW and VIC during the summer season in which you will be travelling (UTC +12)
Fiji is a safe place to visit in this regard, however please consult your doctor if you have any questions.
The local currency in Fiji is called the Fijian Dollar. Although this varies, you can currently get $1.55 Fijian Dollars with $1 Australian. You can exchange your money whilst still in Australia or at the airport when you arrive in Fiji, however, you can also exchange money at the resort. If you have an ATM card, some of them work in the ATMs in Fiji and will give you the local Fijian Currency. Almost all Australian ATM cards work if they have “Cirrus” or “Maestro” written on them.
Yes, alcohol is consumed in Fiji, the same limitations apply as in Australia. If you choose to drink as a young adult on Schoolies – responsible use is encouraged.
When you arrive at the airport, you will be given a VIP Schoolies Fiji colour-coded wristband which you will use to get your meals as well as to access your accommodation. This should be kept on at all times, it also has important contact information on there. This is the only way to access the Schoolies parties and activities since Sure Thing Schoolies is the Official organiser of Schoolies on the mainland of Fiji.
Yes. There are loads of parties and activities at the resort, however you also have the freedom to explore. The reason it is called “Freedom in Fiji” is because the Schoolies event is located on the mainland of Fiji which gives you freedom to explore Fiji including beaches, tours, activities, bars, clubs and nightlife. The Freedom in Fiji package is popular since Schoolies love the feeling of freedom at the Sure Thing Schoolies event rather than being trapped on an island resort for a week at other events (where you can’t leave the hotel). Sure Thing Schoolies at Mango Bay Resort in Fiji is highly recommended for this reason: making it safer, much more fun and you have loads of freedom.
Sure Thing Schoolies has a decade of experience running Schoolies events. Get set for the best week of your life, guaranteed.
Just like the hottest concert tickets… The schoolies resort rooms get snapped up nice and early, the earlier you book, the better it is for you. To get things rolling, contact schoolies@surething.com.au and let them know how many people are in your group. From there, they will send you an itinerary of the best available resort and will give you details on how you can make it yours!
